MaxArt was a project undertaken in 2013 which saw rise to a temporary art gallery that established itself in a small two person office space in one of Perth's tallest sky scrapers. Inspired by corporate office aesthetics and a DIY methodology, MaxArt aimed to create an unexpected and individualised experience for the viewer.
This project insinuated itself into an unsuspecting environment in order to speculate on the viability of empty space in Perth's CBD as potential legitimate frameworks for the display of contemporary art. Fundamentally about experience, enjoyment and art engagement this project involved a series of artist talks, exhibitions, openings and consultations over a period of four months.
A catalogue and essay were written to accompany each exhibition.
